Duration: Permanent

Hours: 9am – 5:30pm (Mon-Fri)

Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire, (London Zone 9, Metropolitan Line) HP5 1PS



We are on the hunt for a brilliant SEO Manager, who’s tuned in to the latest algorithm developments and has the experience and determination to oversee phenomenal work in organic search – whilst being focused on delivering success to our clients.


The right fit will be someone with great SEO skills and experience across: Analysis and Strategy, Tech, Content and Digital PR. They will be able to manage clients and to support the Head of SEO, including overseeing work from other members of the SEO team.

upriseUP is a growing digital marketing agency located in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. We have a diverse portfolio, but are particularly strong in the Charity, B2B services, Ecommerce, and Health & Fitness sectors.



Leading on client work across SEO disciplines

  • Developing and planning clients SEO strategy, including appropriate use of tools such as Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console, ahrefs, Screaming Frog and Deepcrawl.
  • Conducting Technical, Content and Digital PR audits on client’s sites.
  • Technical SEO, working with clients, development teams and independently to identify, advice and implement technical fixes.
  • Planning effective content strategies and supporting implementation.
  • Building effective links through digital PR.
  • Supporting clients’ site through effective local SEO.
  • Monitor and evaluate results and performance.
  • Reporting back to clients with clear analysis and recommendations.


Setting the tone

  • Demonstrating great work, particularly around strategic client work.
  • Awesome organisation and project management skills.
  • Staying up to date with SEO trends and maintaining a curious mind.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Contribute to an office culture that is focused on: Enthusiasm, learning, working in close partnership with clients and delivering brilliant work.

  • Offering views, insights and experience.

Demonstrating thought leadership to the outside world, both to clients and other agencies. This would be to match the personal style of the person and could include development of a personal brand through:

  • Writing thought leadership articles (and other content) on the development of effective content strategies and SEO.
  • Active on forums, industry websites and social media.
  • Speaking at conferences and talks.
  • Entering industry awards.


Supporting the New Business process

  • Support writing new business proposals.
  • Being involved in chemistry / creds meetings, new business pitch meetings and (potentially) networking events.

Experience Required


We are specifically looking for a candidate with proven SEO skills and over 3 years’ experience, who can demonstrate superb knowledge of SEO, across:

  • Strategy
  • Technical
  • Content
  • Digital PR.
  • A scientific testing approach with good data analysis skills.
  • Agency experience.
  • Good content writing and creation skills.

Highly competent in:

  • Google Analytics
  • Search Console
  • Screaming Frog and AHREFS a distinct advantage – if not then similar
  • Have working knowledge of PPC search
  • Able to take a lead role in developing our SEO services and client base
  • Able to demonstrate good client communication and management skills
  • Good understanding of site architecture
  • Experience promoting content and websites through social media
  • Clear on the technologies behind websites, best practice UX and the components which contribute towards effective landing pages
  • Numerate and equipped with a good eye for detail


Some experience managing your own personal website or blog,  and writing HTML and CSS would be ideal.
