upriseUP were delighted to host an evening of Ecommerce together with our friends at Google.


95% of UK consumers now buy products online. In November 2016 15.8% of retail spending was online, representing year on year growth of 24.9%. At this rate, within 5 year we can expect online retail to overtake in-store purchases.


The rate of development in the industry offers those of us fortunate enough to be working in Ecommerce a promising career for years to come. Also the shear pace of change in the tools and technology is fascinating and this will only increase. Companies such as Amazon and eBay have revolutionized how transactions are made already; and yet there will be accelerated change over the next few years with the rise of virtual Assistants, (such as the Amazon Echo), that will significantly reduce the friction between demand and online purchases.


The subject matter is fascinating and we are intent on creating an evening to match, where professionals engaged in Ecommerce can join us and share insights into the future of Ecommerce, discuss the technologies available and share findings as to what really makes a difference for online retail businesses. There will be segments from a number of experts in different fields, including client insights and talks on paid search and shopping ads, Ecommerce SEO, boosting sales with YouTube and much more.

Nathan Potts

With a background in digital re-marketing, Nathan has been helping to develop a portfolio of Google advertising agencies for nearly a year, and has a great enthusiasm for anything digital. Nathan loves Motorsport involving anything on two or four wheels – When he’s not working you’ll find him either racing, breaking or fixing his track car!


Rebecca Wetten

Lead Publisher, Raconteur

Rebecca publishes special interest reports for The Times and The Sunday Times, connecting intelligent readers with leading analysis and commentary on the important issues of the 21st century. She is currently overseeing the ‘Future of eCommerce’ report which will be published in The Times on February 21st.


Michael Kashioulis

Kapwom Dingis

Head of SEO, upriseUP

Kapwom, head of SEO at upriseUP has a vast background in technical and on page SEO with years of experience working with well-known brands such as Krispy Kreme and Bon Voyage Travel. Since working with upriseUP he has been involved in the strategic implementation of SEO tactics to improve the organic performance of several clients’ websites.


John Onion

Managing Director, upriseUP

John is a specialist Digital Marketing Consultant with over fifteen years’ industry experience. John started his career in the commercial sector, working for major media planning and buying agencies on clients including BT, Intel, Barclays and Canon.
